Katsu Shroomy Steak


(Serves 2)

Quick 20 min Katsu sauce :

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • 1 onion peeled and finely chopped

  • 2 cloves garlic peeled and finely chopped

  • 1 thumb of ginger peeled and grated

  • 1 tablespoon medium curry powder

  • 1 teaspoon of turmeric

  • 1 400ml tin of coconut milk

  • 1 tablespoon of sugar

  • 1 good pinch of salt

Method :

In a saucepan - add vegetable oil and cook onions, garlic and ginger and cook gently for 5 mins with no colour - add curry and turmeric powder, cook gently for a further 5 mins.

Add coconut milk, sugar and salt - simmer gently for a further 10 mins until reduced slightly.

Serve with 2 cooked Shroomy steaks and steamed rice and greens.
